Katheryn Elizabeth Hudon better known as Katy Perry, is an American singer-songwriter and musician. She was born October 25, 1984 and raised in Santa Barbara by Christian pastor parents and grew up listening only to gospel music. Katy rose to fame in 2007 with internet hit "Ur So Gay", and later scored in 2008 her breakthrough single "I Kissed A Girl".

At the age of 15, Katy's singing in church attracted the attention of rock veterans from Nashville, Tennessee, who brought her there to polish her writing skills. In Nashville, she started recording demos and was taught by country music veterans on how to craft songs and play guitar. Katy Perry signed to the Christian music label Red Hill, under which she recorded her first album at the age of 15. Using her real name, Katy Hudson, she released the self-titled Gospel-rock album in 2001.The album was unsuccessful, however, after the label ceased.She later changed her surname to Perry, her mother's maiden name, because "Katy Hudson" was too close to film actress Kate Hudson.

Among Katy Perry's musical influences are Alanis Morissette, Cyndi Lauper, Pat Benatar, Joan Jett, Shirley Manson,and Freddie Mercury,the late frontman of the British band Queen. Growing up listening to gospel music, Katy had few references when she began recording songs.

In 2004, she recored an album with production team The Matrix, but it was never released. After signing on with Capitol Music Group in 2007, she took on stage name Katy Perry and released her first mainstream album, One of the Boys.

Katy is known for her unconventional style of dress.It is often humorous, bright in color, and reminiscent of different decades, and frequently uses fruit-shaped accessories, primarily watermelon, as part of her outfits.Her dark hair is signature to her look, but, as the music video to "Ur So Gay" shows, her hair is naturally blonde and she dyed her hair and eyebrows a darker color.

Having learned dancing at an early age, she fancied about having her own style. Katy's transformation into an artist began with fashion, inspired by American film actress Dominique Swain's portrayal in 1997 film adaptation of the novel Lolita. She defines her fashion "a bit of a concoction of different things".Johnny Wujek, Katy's stylist, described her style, upon meeting her for the first time, as "very colorful and vintage". Her fashion has caught the attention of designers, who were giving her nearly as much attention as fans of her music.

James Morrison is an award winning BRIT singer-songwriter and guitarist in Rugby, Warwickshire. His debut single "You Give Me Something” became a hit in Europe, Australia, and Japan, peaking in the top five in the UK and New Zealand in 2006. His debut album, Undiscovered which was released on 31st of July, 2006 was debuted at the top of the UK Albums Chart. He achieved worldwide success with debut single "You Give Me Something", which reached #2 in Holland and the #5 spot in the UK.

The album received generally positive reviews with the The Sun, claiming "There isn't a bad track on it". The album sold over 1 million copies around the world by the end of 2006, making James the best selling male solo artist of 2006 in the UK.

An equally positive review by The Times stated that "Undiscovered may prove to be the least apposite album title for years".

James Morrison released his second album, Songs for You, Truths for Me in 2008, which entered the top five in the UK as well as topping the Irish Albums Chart. Songs for You, Truths for Me featured the top ten singles "You Make It Real" and his critically acclaimed collaboration with Nelly Furtado titled "Broken Strings". That’s one of my favorite songs from him. He has performed with Jason Mraz, Nelly Furtado, and others in concerts and in songs.

On April 30, 2009, it was announced on Take That's official site that James Morrison would be supporting the band at some venues and dates on their 2009 tour. James Morrison performed along with singer Gary Go, in the Sunderland Stadium of Light on June 5, the Coventry Ricoh Arena on June 9, the Cardiff Millennium Stadium on June 16 and 17, the Glasgow Hampden Park on June 20, the Manchester Old Trafford Cricket Ground on June 26 and in the London Wembley Stadium on July 1.

The duo was originally known as The OKB (The OutKast Brothers) but later changed its name to OutKast. Kathleen Emperatriz DeLuna better known in her stage name as Kat DeLuna, is an American Pop and R&B singer of Dominican heritage. She was born November 17, 1987 in The Bronx, New York. At the age of 12, Kat DeLuna was invited by Milly Quezada to sing with her on stage. In her freshman year of high school at Arts High School in Newark, NJ (The Nations First Arts High School in the country for the Visual and Performing Arts), she responded to an audition in The Village Voice and was accepted into an all-Latina, Hip Hop/R&B group called Coquette.

At the age of 15, Kat entered a Coca-Cola sponsored karaoke competition and she won it. After the competition, Cuban salsa singer Rey Ruiz advised Kat DeLuna to start writing her own music. It was a shocking Thursday, June 25, when the news dispersed that Michael Jackson passed away because of cardiac arrest at the age of 50. It was a devastating news not only to his fans but most especially to his family. M.J is an icon not only for Americans but also worldwide. Most of his songs are smashed hits. His music are superb and loved by everyone. As one of the big fan of M.J., my dearest condolences to the family as well as to my fellow M.J fanatics

Michael Jackson was one of the great music heroes of the late 20th century. A superstar who spanned pop, disco and MTV. At the age of 11, M.J became a singing star. He had four consecutive #1 hits with his youthful band of brothers, The Jackson Five. He went solo in 1972 with the album Got to Be There and embraced the glitter of disco with Off the Wall (1979). After his smash 1982 album Thriller yielded seven top-ten hits (including "Billie Jean" and "Beat It"), M.J was dubbed "The King of Pop." Michael Jackson was an early star of MTV and an international hitmaker. His distinctive wardrobe featured glittery suits and pseudo-military uniforms matched with the single white glove was became his signature. He became increasingly reclusive, appearing in public only behind sunglasses, tinted car windows and silk face masks. Reports of lavish spending and unpaid bills became standard fare.

Michael Jackson popped back up in London in 2009 to announce a new series of 50 performances in the city's O2 Arena but unfortunately, the concerts will not take place. There is a bitter-sweet part that I've realized when somebody famous died. Just like M.J, who have reached the pinnacle of success of in the music business, it always see an outpouring of sympathy when he died because of the sheer number of fans he leave behind. But there is more to it. It also reminds us all that life is short and all the money and fame in the world won't stop death. In the most tragic cases it also proves that money and fame cannot buy happiness. Again, my dearest sympathy to the Jackson family and to my fellow fanatics out there.

Incubus is a Grammy-nominated alternative metal band based from Calabasas, California. The band formed by vocalist Brandon Boyd, lead guitarist Mike Einzinger, and drummer Jose Pasillas. The band grew to include bassist Alex Katunich (a.k.a "Dirk Lance"), and Gavin Kopell (a.ka. "DJ Lyfe"), bith of whom were eventually replaced by bassist Ben Kenney (formerly of the Roots), and DJ Kilmore, respectively on 1991.

Incubus became one of the most popular alt-metal bands of the new millennium, setting themselves apart from a crowded field with a somewhat less negative outlook and a tireless touring ethic. Their early funk-metal sound was heavily influenced by the Red Hot Chili Peppers, but broadened over the next few years to incorporate thrash, rap-metal, post-grunge rock, and grinding alt-metal à la Korn or the Deftones. By the time the group members graduated from high school, they had already been playing all-ages shows around southern California on a regular basis. In 1995, Incubus added hip-hop turntablist DJ Lyfe (aka Gavin Koppel) to their lineup and recorded the independently released album Fungus Amongus. That, coupled with a strong local following, helped the band get a deal with Epic subsidiary Immortal.

Vocalist Brandon Boyd has called avant-garde artist Mike Patton a major influence, with many of his traits appearing both within Incubus' music and within Brandon's vocals. With their earlier albums in particular the band displayed a large amount of experimental qualities, mixing traditional genres such as metal, punk, and grunge with funk, jazz, and psychedelic (and with the introduction of DJ Gavin Koppell and later Chris Kilmore, electronic) influences. Incubus later albums saw them developing a cleaner, more mainstream hard rock sound, while still showing experimentation and growth, drawing in elements and influences from heavy metal, hip hop, surf rock, post-grunge, progressive, folk, and space rock.

The latter part of the name is variably spelled either GaGa or Gaga, both on her websites and by her record label. She has been influenced by glam rockers such as David Bowie and Queen as well as '80s pop singers such as Madonna and Michael Jackson.

Lady Gaga was originally signed to Def Jam when she was 19 years old. It happened after the record executive L. A. Reid heard her singing down the hallway from his office. However Gaga states Reid never met with her.

After singer-songwriter and record producer Akon recognized that Lady Gaga also had vocal talent, he signed her to a joint deal with his own label, Kon Live Distribution, and then started to work on her own new material for her debut album. In 2008, Gaga released The Fame, which she explained was "about how anyone can feel famous". To date, the album spawned the international hit singles "Just Dance" (nominated for Best Dance Recording at the 51st Grammy Awards) and "Poker Face".

Formed in 1995, from Tallahassee, Florida, Creed was an American post-grunge band that became popular in the late 1990s and early 2000s. The band formed after Scott Stapp and Mark Tremonti, friends at Florida State University and high school classmates at Orlando's Lake Highland Preparatory School, decided to form a band, recruiting Brian Marshall and Scott Phillips to complete the quartet in late 1995. The band was originally called "Naked Toddler", then was called "Maddox Creed" but was changed to "Creed" by suggestion of Marshall and agreed to be the final naming. The four members had already written and collaborated three of the songs that would go on to become tracks on their chart-topping debut album My Own Prison. The songs were "One", "Sister" and "What's This Life For".

Creed won a Grammy Award for Best Rock Song for the song "With Arms Wide Open" in 2001. The band broke up in 2004 after three multi-platinum albums, selling 26 million records in the United States. In late 2008, rumors began circulating that Creed was planning a 2009 reunion, but they have since been dismissed by Michael Tremonti, Alter Bridge's fan liaison.

In April 2009, however, the official Creed website was re-launched, and a video stating 'coming summer 2009' was posted on the home page, which now confirms the bands are to reunite. However, the terms of such a reunion are still unclear.

In August 2006 they released their self-titled debut album Boys Like Girls on Columbia Records/Red Ink. They were the co-headliners for the Soundtrack of Your Summer Tour 2008 that recently toured across the U.S. along with Good Charlotte, The Maine, and Metro Station.

Singer/guitarist Martin Johnson formerly of the Boston act The Drive / Fake ID wrote a handful of songs he wanted to record. And the group Boys Like Girls was formed in the final months of 2005. Martin recruited bassist Bryan Donahue and drummer John Keefe, both of whom had been in bands of different setups with the frontman, most notably in the pop punk band Lancaster and less notably the short-lived local act The Bends. Keefe brought along lead guitarist Paul DiGiovanni, whom he had recorded a brief demo with, to complete the line-up. Oddly enough, the two learned that they were distant cousins several months later. The quartet soon opened a PureVolume account to showcase their music, and uploaded a rough demo of "The Great Escape" and an acoustic rendition of "Thunder". By the end of the year, the group had landed the #1 spot on the website's Top Unsigned Artists chart.

While in control of the AT&T Blue Room, Martin Johnson said that they are going to begin recording their new album soon, and that it will hopefully be out in the first part of 2009. On martinsays.com, Martin said on February 10, 2009 that they started recording their new album.

It's rumoured their new album will be called Heavy Heart and will feature the songs "Kill Me in a Record Shop", "Free", and "I told you so". The songs were demos for their self-titled album, Boys Like Girls. However, the boys did not put them on the album. In the summer of 2008, they worked alongside Nickelodeon pop singer Miranda Cosgrove on her upcoming debut album, due for release in 2009.

Formed in Franklin, Tennessee, USA, Paramore is an American rock band consisting of Hayley Williams (lead vocals/keyboard), Josh Farro (lead guitar/backing vocals), Taylor York (rhythm guitar), Jeremy Davis (bass guitar), and Zac Farro (drums). Their spunky blend of emo-pop and anthemic rock would eventually make them stars on both sides of the Atlantic. The group released their debut album All We Know Is Falling in 2005, and their second album Riot! in 2007, this was certified platinum in the US and gold in the UK and Ireland.

Buoyed by the popular singles "Misery Business," "Crushcrushcrush," and "That's What You Get," Riot! turned Paramore into industry darlings, going platinum within its first 13 months of release and earning the band a Grammy nomination for Best New Artist. The group toured exhaustively in support of the record, even landing a two-month jaunt across the continental U.S. with their idols Jimmy Eat World. Meanwhile, Paramore found time to contribute two songs to the Twilight soundtrack, including the Top 40 single "Decode." A live album entitled The Final Riot! was released several weeks after the Twilight soundtrack, capturing the band's energy as a live act and concluding its lengthy tour.

Paramore's new song "Decode" is the lead single for the novel-based Twilight film. Another song called "I Caught Myself" is also featured on the film's soundtrack. The band began shooting the video October 13 and singer Hayley Williams posted photos on the band's website of them on the set. "Decode" was released on October 1, 2008 on the Paramore Fan Club site as well as Stephenie Meyer's website. The video was premiered on November 3. Hot Topic hosted listening parties for the soundtrack on October 24, 2008, and the album was released on November 4, 2008. Border's released an exclusive version of the soundtrack that features an acoustic version of "Decode."

On January 21 2009, it was announced that Paramore will be the special guest with Bedouin Soundclash at the No Doubt Reunion Tour 2009, starting in May 2009 in outdoor amphitheaters and arenas across the US and Canada.

Secondhand Serenade is an American acoustic rock solo project fronted by vocalist and guitarist John Vesely. The solo project began in California, USA, in 2004. Vesely has released two studio albums to date under the name Secondhand Serenade, Awake in 2007 and A Twist in My Story in 2008. The debut album used multitrack recording to create the sound of a band using technology, while the second album took a different path, using a proper band and an orchestra to establish a more accomplished sound.

In 2005, Vesely released his debut album titled Awake. It was recorded as a demo, after booking a few days at a San Francisco studio earlier in 2005, "using just an acoustic guitar and his multi-tracked vocals". The album was promoted through the Secondhand Serenade Myspace page and by playing local shows. The CD's were originally sold through mail order with a PayPal account by Vesely, eventually he signed up with distributor TuneCore making Secondhand Serenade's songs available on music portals including iTunes.

The album experienced tremendous online support, and by the end of 2006 Secondhand Serenade had received millions of plays on Myspace and had been the social-networking site's No. 1 Independent Artist for months. In early 2007, Awake was reissued by Glassnote Records with an additional two songs. It was released on February 6 and gave Vesely his first chartings, debuting at #16 on Billboard's Top Heatseekers chart. The album was leaked, and was made available for download one month before its official release. On January 28, 2008 the music video for the first single from the album "Fall for You" premiered on the popular MTV show TRL and was certified Platinum by the RIAA. In support of the release, Secondhand Serenade spent most of March and April touring with American bands Making April, Automatic Loveletter, and The White Tie Affair.

The Click Five is rock band formed in Boston in mid-2003. Lead guitarist Joe Guese, bassist Ethan Mentzer, and keyboardist Ben Romans were students at the Berklee School of Music when they captured the attention of Svengali manager Wayne Sharp, a longtime jazz promoter whose first attempt at creating a pinup-ready pop combo. Sharp added another Berklee student, drummer Joey Zehr, who recommended childhood friend Eric Dill to fill the band's front man slot, after signing Guese, Mentzer, and Romans.

Click Five began sharpening their chops on the Boston nightclub circuit in the spring of 2004, and cut their first two-song demo session upon receiving their Sharp-issued matching mod-influenced suits and salon-styled haircuts. A four-song tape quickly followed, and within a month the group signed to Lava Records. Soon after touring the U.S. in support of Ashlee Simpson and releasing an EP, Angel to You (Devil to Me), The Click Five's debut LP, Greetings from Imrie House, followed in the summer of 2005 amid a flurry of licensed lunchboxes, trading cards, and hair products. The album was also supported via tour dates in support of the Backstreet Boys. After replacing Dill with singer/guitarist (and fellow Berklee alum) Kyle Patrick, Modern Minds and Pastimes followed in 2007.

OneRepublic's varied style has made it difficult for the public to place the band in one particular genre of music. Although Ryan describes many of the songs on their album as, 'safe, radio-friendly pop-rock songs with big choruses', they present themselves in the genre of Alternative Rock.

Last September 24, 2008, the band stated during a concert at the London Forum in England, they were working on new material for a new album to be released in the summer of 2009. The band played one of the newly recorded songs titled, "All The Right Moves” which was also stated on 28th September at the Carling Academy in Newcastle.

My Chemical Romance is an alternative pop/rock and punk-pop band. They are in New Jersey. Their name was inspired by author Irvine Welsh (of Trainspotting fame), and while many of their songs are loud, fast, hyper, and aggressive, My Chemical Romance's work also tends to be melodic and pop-minded.

My Chemical Romance got started in the early 2000s, when lead singer Gerard Way and drummer Matt Pelissier decided to try writing some songs together. The first tune that Gerard and Matt, who also had been friends since high school, came up with was called "Skylines and Turnstiles" (a post-9/11 song written after Gerard witnessed the Twin Towers fall while working at his animation job in New York City. Both felt good about the song, and Gerard asked guitarist Ray Toro if he would be interested in working with them. My Chemical Romance's five-man lineup was complete when Gerard, Matt and Ray joined forces with bassist Mikey Way (Gerad's little brother) and guitarist Frank Iero. With that lineup in place, the band started playing all around the Northeast Corridor and made plans to begin working on their first album.

In 2002, the band signed to Eyeball Records and released their debut album I Brought You My Bullets, You Brought Me Your Love. In 2003, My Chemical Romance signed with Reprise/Warner Bros. and released the aggressively slick Three Cheers for Sweet Revenge one year later. Proving to be hugely popular, the album boasted several successful singles on commercial radio and MTV, including "I'm Not Okay (I Promise)," "Helena," and "The Ghost of You," as the album climbed the Billboard charts. On the next year, they signed with Reprise Records and released their major label debut Three Cheers for Sweet Revenge. The album was a commercial success, selling over one million copies. The band followed this success with 2006's The Black Parade, featuring their hit singles, "Welcome to the Black Parade", "Famous Last Words", "I Don't Love You", and "Teenagers". The band also filmed a live DVD in Mexico City, which was released on July 1, 2008.

Robert Kelly “Rob” Thomas is an American pop-rock recording artist, and songwriter. He is the primary songwriter and lead singer of the band Matchbox Twenty and formerly of the band Tabitha’s Secret. Rob also records and performs as a solo artist. He earned three Grammy awards for co-writing and singing on the Carlos Santana triple-platinum hit "Smooth" on the album Supernatural in 1999.

He has also lent his songwriting talents to such artists as Willie Nelson, Mick Jagger, Marc Anthony, Pat Green, Taylor Hicks, Travis Tritt and Daughtry.

Dishwalla is an alternative rock band. The band's name comes from an Indian term for a person providing cable television to a neighborhood. The band members consists of Scot Alexander, Pete Maloney, J.R Richards, George Pendergest, Rodney Browning and Jim Wood. Rodney claimed the band took the name out of a Wired magazine article, according in a Vox interview.

Dishwalla made a big splash in 1996 with their catchy pop single "Counting Blue Cars." With the gritty heart and soul of those who came before them, Dishwalla's hard rock sound was enough for fans to make Counting Blue Cars one of the most-requested songs of that year. The song also garnered the band a Billboard award for Rock Song of the Year and allowed their debut album, Pet Your Friends, to sell more than a million copies.

Their 1998 follow-up album, And You Think You Know What Life's About, failed to sustain the level of popularity achieved by "Counting Blue Cars". (Partially responsible for the situation was Universal's 1998 purchase and dissolution of A&M/Polygram, the label that produced the two albums.) The group is remembered for their creative compositions and the smooth yet powerful vocals of J.R. Richards. Their unique style and musical talent landed them many movie and TV series ventures.The band have since made a handful of other ventures into the limelight. In 1999, the song "Stay Awake" was featured in the movie Stir of Echoes. In 2002 the song "Home" was in the movie The Banger Sisters, and the The WB series Charmed spotlighted Dishwalla as musical guests in one episode. Other TV shows that have used their songs include Smallville, The OC and Cold Case. The band, which has a loyal fan following, has gone on to release two more studio albums, Opaline and the self-titled Dishwalla, as well as a live album, Live…Greetings From The Flow State.

In 2006, the band decided to take a break from recording. And in 2008, Dishwalla returned to touring with a modified lineup. The band's original drummer George Pendergast and the lead singer of Tripdavon, Justin Fox, as "Special Guest Vocalist" will be playing shows.

Former American Idol season 5 fourth-place finisher Chris Daughtry stated that he would form a new band after turning down Fuel's offer to make him their lead singer named Daughtry. Chris is a singer-songwriter himself and has collaborated with several other songwriters, such as Live's Ed Kowalczyk, Fuel's Carl Bell, 3 Doors Down's Brad Arnold, Matchbox Twenty's Rob Thomas, SR-71's Mitch Allan, Shinedown’s Brent Smith, and Nickelback’s Chad Kroeger.

Daughtry is a rock band from North Carolina. Their self-titled debut album was released in 2006. The disc reached number one for two non-consecutive weeks on the Billboard 200, outsold Idol winner Taylor Hicks' debut effort, sold more than four million copies and was named the number one selling album of 2007 by Billboard. Their album is also the fastest-selling debut rock album in Soundscan history. The first single from the album, "It’s Not Over", was the eighth most played song across all formats on U.S. radio in 2007, and their second single from the album, "Home", was the tenth most played song in the

U.S.

of 2007.

The band's self-titled debut album was produced by Howard Benson and was released by 19 Entertainment and RCA Records on November 21, 2006. Chris played a big part in the album, particularly in songwriting. He had a part in writing/cowriting all but two songs on the album (Feels Like Tonight and What About Now). Chris fully wrote Home, Breakdown and Gone. Hit writers Dr. Luke and Max Martin contributed to the album. Session drummer Josh Freese played drums on all the tracks for the album. The album's first single, "It's Not Over", debuted on the radio on December 6, 2006, after being delayed from a planned September release. The song was an instant success, shooting up the Billboard Hot 100 reaching #4 and hitting the top 3 in several other charts.

The Script are an Irish trio rock band from Dublin, Ireland. The new sensational alternative, pop band are currently based in London after signing to RCA Label Group imprint Phonogenic, and their debut album "The Script" was released in August 2008.

This is a whole new brand of Celtic Soul, blending hip hop lyrical flow with pop melodiousness, state-of-the-art R'n'B production with anthemic rock dynamics, classic song construction with gritty contemporary narratives.

Mark and Danny are former producers who worked with Rodney Jerkins the Neptunes, Teddy Reilly and Dallas Austin. They were based in the US, but moved back to Dublin where they recruited Glen for their new band.

Their debut single "We Cry" received 'Single of the Week on RTE 2FM, Today FM, and by Jo Whiley on BBC Radio, and was Kevin Hughes' tune of the week on GCap Media's The One Network show Music Control. Their second single which I enjoyed most and one of my favorite is the "The Man Who Can't Be Moved" was also Kevin Hughes Tune Of The Week on Music Control Radio, as well as Jo Wiley's pet sound. Their debut album The Script reached number 1 in the UK and Ireland the week it came out.

Panic At The Disco

One of my favorite emo-pop music bands is the Panic at the Disco. Just barely out of high school, they burst out of suburban Las Vegas in 2005 with their full-length debut, A Fever You Can't Sweat Out. Taking their name from a line in Name Taken's "Panic," the group materialized when friends Spencer Smith in drums and Ryan Ross in guitar grew tired of covering blink-182 tunes together and thus recruited classmates Brendon Urie in guitar/vocals and Brent Wilson in bass to complete the quartet. Panic! At the Disco posted some demos online and soon caught the attention of Decaydance, Fueled by Ramen imprint headed by Fall Out Boy's Pete Wentz. The group crafted pop-influenced songs with theatrical touches, quirky techno beats, and perceptive lyrics.

Even though the band had yet to play a live show, they subsequently became the first band signed to the label. With their record issued in September 2005, the guys hit the road that fall on the successful Nintendo Fusion Tour alongside Fall Out Boy, Motion City Soundtrack, Boys Night Out, and the Starting Line. As their single "I Write Sins Not Tragedies" which also I liked most, found its way into TRL hearts (and the Top 40) by the early months of 2006, the band kept the momentum going on the road with the Academy Is..., Acceptance, and Hello goodbye. Proving to be a popular lineup, the tour consistently sold out venues across the country.
Wilson was fired from the group mid-year. Jon Walker pressed on in Panic! At the Disco on board for a full summer of headlining dates around the country that culminated with appearances in Chicago at Lollapalooza and overseas at the U.K.'s Reading and Leeds festivals. Their second single from Fever, "The Only Difference Between Martyrdom and Suicide Is Press Coverage," also began making waves on radio and TV, as the guys picked up Video of the Year at MTV's yearly VMA ceremony, beating out heavy hitters like Madonna and the Red Hot Chili Peppers. A collector's box set version of Fever, full of random Panic paraphernalia and a DVD, came out just in time for the 2006 holiday season.
